A pair of inlaid shibuichi and silver vases decorated with a group of mandarin ducks by a riverbank. The birds worked in gold, shibuichi, shakudo and copper takaniku-iroe-zogan, and the bank with a flowering cherry tree in katakiribori and silver and gold hira-zogan and dandelions in gold and silver hira-zogan with katakiribori details. With wood stands and tomobako with a label of Hattori Company.
Signed Chishinsai Katsunobu koku with seal on the base Hattori.
Ishikawa Katsunobu was born in 1869. He started to learn metalwork from Namekawa Sadakatsu of Tokyo in 1882 and became an independent artist in 1890.
