A black lacquer box and tray finely decorated in rich gold takamaki-e, hiramaki-e and mura-nashiji with Japanese flowers and plants of the four seasons including peonies, chrysanthemums, narcissus, lilies, fujibakama (eupatorium), susuki (pampas grasses), bell flowers and nadeshiko (pinks). The interior of nashiji and applied with silver rims.
