A fine lacquer suzuribako (writing box) decorated in gold takamaki-e and hiramaki-e with flowering cherry trees by a river bank on a nashiji ground, some blossoms in silver foil within gold outline, with the details in gold and silver kirikane. The reverse of the cover with chidori (plovers) in flight above the water on a fine nashiji ground, some with the details in mother-of-pearl for effect. With a circular gilt suiteki (water dropper).
