Silver okimono of dragon with a crystal ball

Ishiguro Koreyoshi

A silver dragon supporting a large rock crystal ball, the scales skilfully carved and the details chiselled for effect, the eyes inlaid in shakudo.

Ishiguro Koreyosi was a son of Ishiguro Masayoshi and a pupil of Ishiguro Koretsune both skilled sword fittings makers. After trained by both excellent craftsmen, he became independent given the art name Koreyoshi, kore from his teacher and yoshi from the father. His birth date is uncertain however a record shows he was still active around 1887.
