A pair of important Presentation bronze vases with integral five-legged stands, decorated in fine gold, silver and copper hira-zōgan (flat inlay) and ito-zōgan (thread inlay) with handles of mythical creature’s trunk with hanging chain pendants, upper part of the body decorated with bands of stylized motifs of flowers, phoenix and dragon and a wide band of silver geometric motif with gold kiri-mon (paulownia crest) used as the emblem of the Japanese government: the lower part with further stylized design as seen in ancient Chinese bronzes.
